Rare 1950’s Riverside Stadium Jacket

$3,000.00

This is a beautiful yet highly worn satin jacket from the early 1950’s.  This is an original jacket from Kansas City’s Riverside Stadium. The track was located right next to the Missouri River bordering both Kansas and Missouri.  The first race was held in June of 1951 but it was met with the unfortunate situation a month later, where the river flooded and completely covered the race track up and over the stands.  It was built as a multi-purpose facility where it held events such as boxing and wrestling to go along with the racing and other special events like stunt shows.  Racing consisted of stock car racing but as time went on, modifieds and late models would join the schedule. They held big events in front of big crowds and IMCA also sanctioned events.  The track closed in the late 1980’s.
