Bob Estes Personal Jacket

$5,000.00

This is a very unique and historic jacket.  My wife who is a vintage clothing expert places the era around 1948-1950 base on the zipper.  Bob Estes was an innovator and leader in the world of open wheel motorsports.  He was one of the founding committee members of USAC and was a true supporter of Indy racing.  You can see this jacket in one of the black and white photos included.  Bob started the Bob Estes Lincoln Mercury dealership in Inglewood, California in 1946.  He subsequently supported sprint car racing where he won a number of championships with Don Branson and Pat O’Conner.    There is a beautiful article about Bob on the historicracing dot com website.  This jacket is likely from the same timeframe as the filming of To Please a Lady with Clark Gable and Barbara Stanwyck.
