Dick Simon was a journeyman driver over 19 years in Indy Car prior to becoming a car owner for drivers such as Arie Luyendyk, Raul Boesel, and Lyn St James. He was actually famous for a spectacular crash in 1982 at Riverside that he walked away from. This helmet is from that crash. There are great YouTube videos of the crash.
