1977/1978 Nigel Mansell Race Used Helmet

Nigel Mansell competed in Formula 1 from1980 to 1995. He won the Formula One World Driver’s Championship in 1992 with Williams and won 31 Grands Prix across 15 seasons. In American Open Wheel racing, Mansell won the Indy Car World Series in 1993 with Newman/Haas, and remains the only driver to have simultaneously held both the F1 and American Open Wheel Championship. This rare and historic helmet was used early in Nigel’s career. In 1977 he entered 42 races and won an astonishing 33 of them to become the 1977 British Formula Ford Champion.  This helmet was obtained from his estate auction.
