1973 Salt Walther Race Used Helmet and Car Part
$20,000.00
This is a historic combination of a Salt Walther helmet and car part. These were used during one of the most spectacular Indy Car crashes in the history of the Indy 500. Fortunately, no driver was killed in the accident. This helmet shows significant damage from rubbing the asphalt as the car spun upside down from one side of the track to the other. The car part is also very rare. The rest of the car is in a Henry Ford Museum. I have included a copy of the letter from Salt before the remains of the car went to the Henry Ford Museum. I am not sure why the one piece of the car did not go to the museum, however, we were able to obtain it as shown in the photographs.
