Tom McEwen was a larger than life drag racer nicknamed “The Mongoose”. He and Don Prudhomme were famous for their confrontations of “the Snake” vs “The Mongoose”. The two formed a touring team sponsored by Mattel’s Hot Wheels from 1970-1972. McEwen is considered a top influencer for the sport of drag racing. This helmet came directly from Tom McEwen and was used early in his Mongoose days. This is a rare and unique helmet.
