Johnny Rutherford won the Indy 500 three times. Over the course of his more than three decade Indy Car career, he won 27 races and had 23 poles. Rutherford also won the USAC Sprint Car Championship in 1965. This helmet was used during the 1988 Michigan 500 during which race Johnny was involved in a fire. You can see evidence of this with the burn marks on the helmet.
